Description Eryngium foetidum is a tropical perennial herb in the family Apiaceae. Common names include cilantro, recao, shadow beni, Mexican coriander, bhandhania, long coriander, sawtooth coriander, and ngò gai It is native to Mexico, the Caribbean, Central and South America, but is cultivated worldwide, sometimes being grown as an annual in temperate climates. It is widely used for its culinary attributes, being a good substitute for coriander but superior in many ways. It is tolerant of humid and hot conditions; pinch out flowering tips to encourage leaf growth. Keep moist until germination in 1-2 weeks. Separate seedlings when large enough and plant in a deep pot. Will grow in part shade or full sun.
