This tastes just like it used to taste when I bought it in China. No off flavors and none of the bitterness you get with the cheaper types. The only thing I would say is that the brewing instructions could be better, it says to keep a spoonful for 2-3 mins, but in fact, 3 pearls are enough for a cup, and it can be steeped at least three times, in fact, the first brew only starts to rehydrate the leaves, the second brew is the best. Or as the Chinese do, just put some in the cup (or cafetiere) and leave it there, and keep refilling throughout the day. And the water should not be higher than 80 degrees, so add some cold water to the pearls first.
